Composer, Marcos Gil joins our team to create a dynamic and evocative score for our documentary. Marcos is a composer, producer and bassist with over 20 years of experience in the music industry.

After graduating from music school at the Argentinean Musicians Society (SAdeM, Buenos Aires, Argentina), Marcos began working as a session bassist in his hometown of Buenos Aires, recording and touring with a wide range of local artists. Parallel to his session work, Marcos began to make a name as a Producer and Recording Engineer, founding Manitu recording studios in 2004.

During his years as head producer and manager at Manitu studios, he recorded and produced many records, worked with local independent labels and began his career as a composer, writing music for advertising campaigns.

Marcos relocated to Sydney, Australia, in 2010 where he continued his work as a touring musician and bass tutor. He co-wrote and recorded two albums with the Jazz Fusion outfit Danny John Trio which led to a tour to Los Angeles, Chicago and San Antonio, USA, in 2014.

In 2015 Marcos decided to focus on composing and enrolled in a Master’s certificate in Composition for Film and TV at the renowned Berklee College of Music, which he finished with outstanding grades in 2017.

Marcos has scored several independent short films and has composed a collection of original songs for music libraries. He is currently working on the score of the feature film “Bam Bam”, a documentary about Australian boxer Bianca Elmir.
